Happy Homemaker Monday – Week 12 – 2011

Happy Monday everyone.

From: Diary of a Stay at Home Mom

The weather in my neck of the woods: Upper 70’s and very windy. The weather people say we will probably get bad thunder storms this afternoon.
Things that make me happy: My mail order packages showing up early.

Book I’m reading: I’m almost done with A Deeper Kind of Calm. I should have the review up in a day or two.

Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Ephesians

What’s on my TV today: Fame (the TV series being rerun on ovation TV) It’s fun watching something I enjoyed as a teenager even if parts of it now seem silly or dated.

On the menu for dinner: Chicken Fajita Quesadillas and Spanish Rice

On my To Do List: Homeschooling

Spring Cleaning

Getting ready for my son’s birthday

Typing up a scripture list to print. My pastor wants to hand it out at Wednesday night’s service

New Recipe I tried or want to try soon:

Mexican Beef & Pasta, The Chicken Fajita Quesadillas I’m fixing tonight are a new recipe.

In the craft basket:
Still working on my Noah’s Ark picture (It will probably take me months to finish) and a few Easter decorations.

Looking forward to this week: My son’s 15th birthday. Playing Kinect games with my kids. Hopefully getting our vents repaired so we can run the central AC next time it gets over 80 degrees.

Tips and Tricks: Put vinegar on a bee or wasp sting (after you’ve removed the stinger if there is one. It helps the pain go away faster.

My favorite blog post this week: The Home at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom.

Blog Hopping (a new discovered blog you would like to share with the readers):
Studies in Scripture

It’s not a newly discovered blog. It’s my husband’s Bible blog so I’ve known about since it went up about a year and a half ago.

No words needed (favorite photo or picture, yours or others you want to share):

Lesson learned the past few days:
I’ve been reminded sometimes it’s best to keep your mouth shut and wait for the right time to put in your two cents worth.

On my mind: Every year around my kids’ birthdays I start wondering how good of a job I’ve done in teaching them what they are going to need to know. I’m sure I’ve done a good job in some areas but I’m just as sure my teachings have been lacking in other areas.

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:

10There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 11For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.   Psalms 91:10-11
